HMI’s story began in 1988 when President and CEO Mark Knight established Qwik Response Water Damage & Restoration. Qwik Response quickly became an innovator in the disaster relief and construction industry as pioneers in structural drying of flood-damaged homes and businesses.

In 2010 Mark founded Frontline Response to address risk management issues facing major home builders. Frontline has worked with over 20,000 homeowners and 19 different major home builders in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Florida, and Minnesota.

In 2012 the building industry called on Mark again, this time regarding the inflated cost of SB800 repairs contractors were charging due to the legal sensitivity of this work. Home Maintenance & Inspection was formed to provide a one-stop-shop for warranty & construction defect claim repairs. Mr. Knight is a leading consultant to companies such as Standard Pacific Homes, D.R. Horton, William Lyon Homes, and Shea Homes to name a few.
